Start with 3 wildlife safaris in Ranthambhore National Park, famous for its tiger population but also supporting a huge variety of other wildlife - maybe you will see a rare white-backed vulture soaring above you as you look out for leopards, nilgai (India's largest antelope), sambar and chittal (spotted) deer, sloth bears, the ubiquitous common langur monkeys, striped hyenas, jackals, jungle cats, wild boar, crocodiles - the list goes on. ??You could see white-breasted kingfishers, pied kingfishers, painted stork, spoonbill, demoiselle cranes, white Ibis, Indian roller, paradise flycatcher, golden oriole - there are too many to list.
Then there is plenty of time in Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the world famous wetlands site that supports more than 350 species of bird including the endangered Siberian Crane. Visit Chambal River and enjoy a boat trip where you will see Indian skimmers and possibly catch a sight of the rare river dolphin along with many crocodiles (don't fall in!). Enjoy trips to Bandbharata Dam and Kiteem Lake birding sites and see Saras cranes - make sure you bring your best equipment! |
